This is a combination of a traditional cobbler and a dutch oven recipe
Ingredients
At home: Combine sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Double-bag in zipper-lock bags to keep it from spilling.
At camp: Peel, core and slice the apples immediately before cooking. Melt one stick of butter or margarine in dutch oven. Add sliced apples and sugar mixture. Cook 10 minutes to soften the apples.
Pour dry cake mix over fruit. Cut remaining stick of butter or margarine into slices and place on top of dry mix. Bake 45 minutes at 375°F or until done.
